Come and view the art work, meet the Falmouth art teachers, and enjoy some refreshments.

The show “Art Education in Action” is presented during Youth Art Month to promote and celebrate the importance of the arts in our schools. The mission of the Falmouth Public School’s Art Department is to teach critical thinking skills, encourage creative problem solving, develop positive self-esteem, and promote self-discipline and motivation. A quality art education provides the knowledge, skills, and techniques with which our students can express ideas in ways which cannot be expressed through language alone.

A critical part of our sequential art program is to provide students with instruction from elementary school through high school so students can develop their skills in creating, revising, exhibiting, and assessing their art work.

The work that will be on display is a collection of techniques, themes, and approaches to drawing, painting, photography, and mixed media.

Additional pieces of student art work for Youth Art Month will be on display at the Falmouth Public Library, 300 Main Street, from March 10 – March 31.
