The Wheel of Fortune will sweep you up in songs of love, passion, and loss in Carmina Burana, Carl Orff’s incandescent setting of medieval verse. Choruses erupting with primitive power implore Fate’s mercy; soloists bare their souls in proclaiming hearts aflame with desire; and the fresh purity of a children’s chorus marks the point where love begins. With pianists Randolph James and Robert Wyatt and pulsating rhythmic percussion, this wild, untamed, and exhilarating musical experience is not to be missed.
