Robert Wyatt Lecture:
Elvis Presley: A Birthday Tribute to the King
This presentation is a reprise of a lecture by American music specialist Robert Wyatt previously presented at the Smithsonian Institution.
Beginning his career in the mid-1950’s as a "rockabilly" proponent, Elvis Presley’s honey-coated voice and uninhibited stage antics catapulted him to world-wide fame. With a versatile style which allowed for the exploration of many genres - rock and roll, gospel, blues, country, ballads and pop - Elvis became one of the best-selling solo artists in the history of popular music.
Light refreshments will be served.
Tickets: $20.00
Preregister online at www.highfieldhall.org or by phone at 508-495-1878, ext. 313
