The Falmouth Dream Cruise by the Sea and Car Show Weekend promises to be a spirited event with plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. The scenic seaside town of Falmouth on Cape Cod will play host to this two day event with multiple car shows scheduled for Saturday August 30th and a 20 mile scenic dream cruise for Sunday August 31st. All proceeds will benefit local charities.
The car shows will be divided by category and will all be located within a mile of the town center at four separate venues. Although viewers will be able to stroll between the different shows, shuttle buses will be available for convenience.
Pre World War II and Elegant Automobiles will be displayed in the quaint setting of the Falmouth Village Green. American and European Sports, Performance, and Exotic Cars will be seen at a location close to the Town Center, while Pre 1980 American Muscle and Hot Rods will be lined up at Falmouth Harbor. British cars round out the selection with a display at Central Park next to the British Beer Company in Falmouth Heights.
The Sunday Cruise will take place on a twenty mile scenic route taking participants through the Village Center and along beautiful ocean front roads offering spectacular views of Martha’s Vineyard, miles of pristine beaches, scenic harbors and beautiful private homes. The cruise will run between 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm and is an “at will” event which will allow participants to stop along the route to relax and watch other participants drive by.
These non judging events are free of charge and designed for the enjoyment of your family and the glory of your car. All clubs and individuals possessing cars that fit into these categories are welcome and encouraged to participate. Please register in advance in order to receive a goodie bag, dash plaque and great spot! Although there is room for over one thousand cars, it is important to know about your car in advance.
Participants and viewers will also be able to take advantage of the many activities already in place for the Labor Day weekend. The Falmouth Chamber of Commerce and Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank will sponsor the 7th annual POPS Goes The Summer Concert and Fireworks display at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds on Saturday evening August 30th. You won’t want to miss this much anticipated event featuring the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra. Special guest soloist Jodi Benson is sure to delight young and old alike performing favorites from Broadway, Hollywood and Disney fame.
Located on the southwestern most part of Cape Cod, Falmouth boasts 68 miles of coastline and is made up of eight distinct villages. Because the beaches on Buzzards Bay face west, Falmouth is unique as the only town on Cape Cod where people can experience sunsets over the ocean.
Falmouth boasts a wide variety of dining and lodging choices ranging from casual to elegant. Not only will you find an unlimited selection of restaurants in which to eat, but also both modern motels and hotels or charming bed and breakfasts and guest houses to stay at.
