Falmouth Village, MA – After the winter we’ve had, spring will be especially welcome in Falmouth Village, MA. And the Village is celebrating with two festive events to usher in spring. Look forward to Easter eggs and blooming gardens throughout the next six weeks in Falmouth Village. Here’s what’s in store.
Saturday, April 19, 2014: Children’s Easter Egg Scramble in Falmouth Village: Wear your Easter bonnet and head to Falmouth Village for photos with the Easter Bunny at noon on the Falmouth Public Library lawn. At 1:00 pm, stay for a good ol’ fashioned Easter Egg Scramble. Children nine and under must be accompanied by an adult. Following the scramble visit Falmouth Village Main Street merchants to collect eggs filled with treats and surprises from participating businesses. Info: www.falmouthvillageassociation.com
May 1 – 11, 2014: Falmouth Village Blooming: Spring is coming to Falmouth Village and after this winter, the Falmouth Village Association thinks there is truly reason to celebrate spring. Falmouth Village Blooming is a two-week celebration of spring, gardens and flowers. Put spring in your step during the first two weeks of May with May baskets, May poles, Flower Power Happy Hours, Blooming Bargains and plenty of how-to’s from gardening experts. Here’s a complete schedule:
A celebration of spring blooms in Falmouth Village, MA
May 1 - 11: Tour May Baskets: Take a self-guided tour through Falmouth Village where participating businesses will display handmade and unique May baskets. Vote on the Falmouth Village Facebook page for your favorite and crown a People’s Choice winner.
May 1 - 11: Blooming Bargains: Enjoy Bloomin’ Bargains at participating retailers, offering sales, gifts with purchase, and more. Look for Falmouth Village Blooming sign to identify participating businesses.
May 1 - 8: The Birdhouse Project: If these houses could talk: A collaborative project between Falmouth Museums on the Green and the Falmouth High School ceramics department displayed at Highfield Hall May 1 – 8, 2014.
May 1-11: 3:00-5:00pm: Enjoy Flower Power Happy Hours at participating restaurants, all identified with the Falmouth Village Blooming sign in the window.
May 4: Ring Around the Maypole at Highfield Hall, 2:00-4:00pm - Come dance around the May Pole in the garden and take part in family-friendly arts and crafts activities in the spirit of spring. Celebrate the installation of Alfie Glover’s new sculpture, The Spirits of the Garden. A $10 donation per family appreciated.
May 5: Cinco de Mayo: Join in this spring celebration and enjoy a blooming Margarita as Anejo Mexican Bistro moves the fun out into the street to celebrate the 5th of May.

houses that are based upon some of the stories involved with the owners of these homes. In a collaborative effort with the Falmouth Museums on the Green, these bird houses will be put on display in front of many of the historic houses in Falmouth Village all summer long. Take a self-guided tour of these beautiful works of art displayed throughout Falmouth.
May 9: Mother Daughter photos at View Photography showing the intimate bond of Mothers & Daughters participating in The Locket Project will be on display. A Cocktail reception launch will take place 6:00-9:00pm. Suggested donation: $20 to benefit Children’s Cove.
May 10: Falmouth Beautification Council Plant Sale, 10am – 3pm: Put the gardening gloves on and revvvv your garden engines for the annual Falmouth Beautification Council Sale. Here’s your chance to fill the window boxes and planters! From 9:00am – 3:00pm, under the tents at Town Hall Square, here’s your chance to get annuals, perennials, herbs, daylilies, shrubs, veggies, house plants and more.
Saturday Gardening Workshops:
10am – 1 pm: Master Gardener Soil Testing
10am – 2 pm: Kids Planting Table & Face Painting
10am – 3 pm: Custom Container Planting While you wait! Bring your window boxes and planters to be filled with your choice of plants from the sale. (Nominal charge for plants and planting).
May 10: Just For Kids: Colonial Gardening, 10am – 12pm at Cultural Center, Falmouth Museums on the Green
What do insect repellant, house paint, and food seasonings have in common? In colonial New England, they were all made from plants! Come and learn about the surprising uses of many common (and not so common) herbs and flowers. Make a mini colonial garden to take home--a perfect gift for Mother's Day! $5.00 per child.
May 10: Falmouth B&B Association Garden Tour: 1:00-3:00pm: A number of the Falmouth B&B Association members will open their gardens for touring and mini-workshops. Take a tour of the gardens, enjoy the chance to learn from accomplished innkeeper/gardeners.
